The Belleville & Quinte West Special Olympics offers an exciting basketball program for athletes of all abilities, ages 8 and up.
What We Offer:
Recreational Team (7:00–8:00 PM): Build fundamental skills through drills, shooting, passing, and teamwork. Perfect for beginners and those who want to play fun games while preparing for skills competitions.
Competitive Team (8:00–9:00 PM): Take your game to the next level with dedicated team practices, strategy, and games against other competitive teams.

If you are a first-time athlete, you first need to register with Special Olympics Ontario. When you have completed that, please tap the button below and sign up for your chosen sport.
Sport Status
Basketball is a sport that is recognized at all levels of Special Olympics. Athletes can compete in club level matches right up to SOI World Games.
Sport Season
Basketball is a Spring sport for SOO, the season usually runs from October to May. For National and World games Basketball participates in the Summer Games.
Athlete to Coach Ratios
The ratios are minimum athlete to coach requirements for not only Conference competitions, Provincial, and National Games, but for all Special Olympics Ontario competitions and practices. They ensure that athletes are safe and supervised at all times.
