Volunteer Coordinator
As a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator with Special Olympics, Kelsey has spent the past five years building meaningful connections between volunteers, athletes, and the community. She focuses on recruiting, supporting, and coordinating volunteers to help ensure programs and events run smoothly while creating positive, inclusive experiences. With a lifelong involvement in sports, Kelsey was naturally drawn to supporting Special Olympics.

Secretary
Marie is an Educational Assistant with over six years of experience in the developmental services sector, supporting individuals with diverse needs and promoting inclusive, person-centered practices. She holds a diploma in Developmental Services Worker (DSW) and a degree in Disability Studies, which informs her strong commitment to advocacy, accessibility, and lifelong learning. As Secretary for Special Olympics Belleville and Quinte West, Marie supports organizational operations through communication, coordination, and record-keeping.
Hannah Bonin
Fundraising Coordinator
Hannah Bonin is a healthcare and community services professional with experience supporting nonprofit and municipally operated healthcare organizations. She has held progressively responsible roles focused on individuals with disabilities, older adults, and other vulnerable populations, playing a leading role in initiatives spanning operational planning, policy development, and quality improvement. She has worked closely with executive leadership and boards, supporting governance, risk management, budget oversight, and regulatory compliance. More recently, Hannah has expanded her portfolio to include fundraising and donor engagement, advancing initiatives that strengthen organizational sustainability and deepen community impact. A collaborative and thoughtful leader, she values inclusive leadership, relationship-building, and continuous improvement. Motivated by a personal and professional purpose—to make impactful change today for a better tomorrow—Hannah is eager to contribute her experience and values to her community.

THE ROLE OF THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Communicate with all of the stakeholders to ensure that all of the constituents have knowledge of what is happening in their community with Special Olympics.
Communicate to SOO, the activities of the community
Support and provide guidance on community growth and development
Create community awareness and exposure
Follow the financial and fundraising accountability practices for SOO to maintain the organizations good name and reputation
Ensure that athletes and volunteers are not at risk and are not prevented from participating for fear of risk
Improved decision making for the protection of the membership and the organization as a whole
To create an annual statement of goals for the community in regards to volunteer, athlete, sport program and competition growth
Establish set meeting times and agendas that cover the basic elements of Special Olympics programming including issues of policy and procedures, program goals etc.
Create and execute a well-organized fundraising plan to meet current and future financial needs of the community
